Ecuador

Today Ecuador celebrates National Independence Day. Ecuador is a beautiful country in South America. Its diverse landscape includes Amazon jungle, Andean highlands and the wildlife-rich Galápagos Islands. The economy of Ecuador is based mostly on exports of oil, bananas, shrimp, gold, cocoa beans.



Ecuador is the world's largest exporter of bananas which are available all year round due to the tropical climates.



Ecuador is a major exporter of shrimp, exports of which have increased a lot in the past decade.



Ecuador exports about 65% of the fine cocoa produced in the world whose main feature is a unique floral flavor unmatched in the world.



Exports of non-traditional products such as flowers and canned fish have grown in recent years.


 
Palm oil is in the top 10 major exports of Ecuador. Palm trees currently represent about 61.5% of Ecuador’s total plantations.
