Grape Exports Surpasses Expectations!

Many California growers have found a profitable niche in table grape exports. Nowadays California exports about 60% of its crop, mostly to Asia and the South Pacific region. Scarlet royals, sweet scarlets, autumn royals and red globes are the state’s most popular export varieties.


One change shippers have noticed recently is a gradual transition from red globe grapes, a traditional favorite of foreign buyers, to the same varieties that have become favorites in the U.S. 

Exports are critically important to the overall health of the California table grape industry. California growers export to more than 60 countries. Targeted markets account for more than 97% of the total export volume. They include Asian markets like China, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines and European markets such as Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Australia and New Zealand are also targeted.

Vietnam is ready to establish new partnerships with Nigeria

The Nigerian-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, NVCCI, is ready to partner with Vietnam investors in order to promote export of made-in-Nigeria products.

Disclosing this at the NVCCI secretariat in Lagos the President of NVCCI, Mr. Oye Akinsemoyin informed the participants that the Chamber seeks Nigerians who are able and ready to partner with Vietnamese investors and promote made in Nigeria products that meet the world’s standards that will be exported on the international market.

The new Vietnamese Ambassador to Nigeria, Pham Ahn Tuan responded that his mission in Nigeria was to extend the diplomatic relationship between the two countries which has been in existence since 1976 especially in the area of trade and investment.

Italy Aims to Export Lemons Worldwide in 2017


The Italian lemon harvest in Tamaulipas starts in 30 days. Tamaulipas is expected to export more than 30 thousand tons of these fruits to different markets, such as the United States of America and Europe.


The Italian lemons produced by Tamaulipas had strengthened in world markets, as in the previous period they had achieved selling 28 thousand tons of this product. Exports continue to increase, which allows Tamaulipas to become the main exporter of this product in the international market.


Italian lemons have excellent quality and a great value because of the importance it generates in the specialized markets where it is sent, mainly to the United States.


The economic spill generated by lemon exports strengthened the generation of new jobs in the state, as well as the modernization of the agricultural and value-added practices required for the certification demanded by this agricultural food sector.

Malaysia’s exports continue to grow at a robust pace

Malaysia’s exports continued to grow at a robust pace thanks to a strong demand for electrical products and electronics and higher commodity prices.

According to Alliance DBS Research chief economist Manokaran Mottain, the solid expansion in exports thus far indicates that Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the second quarter of this year would still remain strong.

Export growth of Malaysia remains solid mainly due to the strong performance of electrical and electronic exports and the continued rebound in the oil, gas, power and utility shipment, which contributed 7.9% and 2.1% to export growth, respectively. The double-digit export growth continues and has been the longest positive growth streak since January 2016.

Malaysia tends to establish strong partnerships in Asia and Europe and sign new trade agreements with international manufacturers and customers.
